QUESTIONS
ACTIVESORB-CX® is a high-activity catalytic granular activated carbon (GAC) made from premium coconut shells. It is steam-activated to produce very high surface area and optimized pore structure for dechlorination, chloramine removal, odor control, and organic adsorption in drinking and process water.
ACTIVESORB-CX® contains catalytic surface sites that enable chemical conversion of contaminants — not just adsorption. Benefits include faster chloramine and H₂S removal, higher micropore volume, low dust, high hardness (≥ 98%), cleaner filtrate, and longer filter life.
It removes chlorine, chloramines, hydrogen sulfide, THMs, chloroform, natural organic matter, taste, odor, color compounds, and disinfection by-products (DBPs).
Applications include municipal drinking water plants, POE/POU filters, beverage and food production, aquariums, swimming pools, industrial process-water polishing, and protecting ion-exchange resins from chloramines and organics.
Chloramines (NH₂Cl) undergo catalytic reduction on the carbon surface, producing nitrogen gas, chloride ions, and water. This reaction occurs instantly on contact without adding chemicals.
Rapid dechlorination, high adsorption capacity (Iodine ≥ 1100 mg/g), long life, low pressure drop, NSF quality, high hardness, low dust, wide pH range (9–11), and compatibility with CarbonOxy-R and OXYDES-P for regeneration.
Available mesh sizes: 8×16 (2.36–1.18 mm), 8×20 (2.36–0.60 mm), 8×30 (2.00–0.85 mm), and 12×40 (1.70–0.425 mm). Additional sizes on request.
Surface Area ~1100 m²/g, Bulk Density 525–540 kg/m³, Moisture ≤ 3%, Ash ≤ 4%, Hardness ≥ 98%, CTC ≥ 55%, Catalytic Activity ≥ 20%, pH range 9–11.
Load carefully, backwash until effluent is clear, maintain 25–35% freeboard, operate down-flow or up-flow depending on system type, and use 80–100 cm bed depth.
Yes. It can be regenerated using CarbonOxy-R or OXYDES-P to restore adsorption capacity and extend service life.
1–3 years for residential/POE systems and up to 5 years for municipal/industrial systems with backwashing or regeneration.
Available in 25 kg bags or 500 kg bulk bags. Custom packaging available upon request.
ACTIVESORB-CX® uses intrinsic catalytic sites for chloramine removal, while Catalytic Carbon® uses an iron-hydroxide coating. ACTIVESORB-CX® works at pH 9–11 and is ideal for drinking water and beverages.
Yes. Made from selected coconut shells under NSF-compliant production. Produces low turbidity, no taste, and adds no chemicals — ideal for POU/POE and municipal systems.
