WATCH IONS® Softening Packed Bed Systems
General Information and Highlights
Watch Ion exchange process uses Packed Bed Design. When the water enters the bed during the service cycle, it progressively comes into contact with more highly regenerated resin, wich ensures production of a high quality demineralized water, minimizes chances of ionic leakage and maximizes resin bed operation capacity. Regeneration can be performed faster and more efficiently, with reduced chemical consumption, less rinse water, reduced waste disposal requirements, and lower overall expense.
WATCH Ions Softening Packed Bed Systems
Calcium and magnesium build ups can cause disturbances in many industrial and domestic processes. In the household calcium is deposited in pipes, boilers, washing machines, water heaters, dish washing machines as well as on sanitary surfaces and facilities. A coating of only 1mm can increase energy consumption by 13%. In many industrial applications, softened water is needed, for instance steam boiler plants cannot operate without treated water. Also in laundries and dye houses soft water is nescessary.
Watch PBS-System
A new, efficient and compact ion exchange system. WATCH PBS is simple: Service is upflow, regeneration is downflow. The resin fills the vessel totally in its expanded form. There is no need for any holddown pressure or inert packing material. The operating costs are 50% cheaper than co.flow systems.
It is characterised by
Pretreatment
If and wich way raw water has to be pre-treated before entrance into the water softening plants, depends on the raw water analysis. Only in the case of iron and manganese limits beeing exceeded is a pre-treatment of the water necessary. These elements reduce the ion exchange capacity.
Flows
from 0,4m3/h to 400m3/h
Posttreatment
In cases where the pure water quality is not high enough for specialist applications, quality can be improved by using posttreatments such as reverse osmosis, dosification or UV-desinfection
