ARSENSORB®

System Description

Theory of Operation

Pre-Engineered Systems AS series arsenic removal systems are highly flexible, medium to large scale, ion exchange resin based, skid mounted packages. They are designed to remove arsenic from a wide range of potable water feed streams and are easy to install, maintain and operate. Arsenic laden feed water is pumped through two media tanks wich are plumbed in lead/lag series configuration. The tanks are loaded with ARSENSORB® adsoprtion media. ARSENSORB® is an adsorption media consisting of hydrous iron oxide nanoparticles impregnated into a polymer bead and has been developed for the removal of arsenic from drinking water. The small size of the hydrous iron oxide particles and the high porosity of the polymer substrate ensures that the reaction kinetics associated with arsenic uptake is rapid and that arsenic removal capacity is high. The water path is in the down flow direction to minimize channeling and maximize contact time.

Standard components for ARSENSORB® Systems

Standard systems are available on stainless steel frame and all the systems are ready to install. A standard WATCH ARSENSORB® Arsenic removal system consists of two pressure vessels (resin tanks), manual diaphragm valves, Rotometer flowmeter, pressure gauges and a stainless steel frame with the following

  • PVC piping
  • PVC valves
  • Composite pressure vessels with distributers
  • Inlet pressure 2 -8 bar
  • Operation Temp. 50°C
  • No electrical connection

Options available

  • Dosing systems for Oxident or Desinfection
  • Pre-filtration systems form Rebeccafilter.de
  • pH control systems
  • Water meters for total capacity

System will be delivered with

  • All documentation & drawings
  • Flow charts
  • MSDS sheets of ARSENSORB®
  • All documentation for in case troubleshooting

Training and maintenance

WATCH WATER will offer online technical training for all operators. We recommend that the operator should be trained in collection and reporting of data, in addition to operation and maintenance of the equipment.
