ENVIRODIOXIDE® How does it work

How does chlorine dioxide work as a desinfectant ?

Chlorine Dioxide works through oxidation.

When Chlorine Dioxide is applied, it penetrates the cell wall of bacteria . The reaction of Chlorine  Dioxide with organic substances within the cells and on the surface of the cell membranes causes the  disruption of the cell metabolism. It also reacts directly with amino acids and the RNA in the cells . The  microorganisms can't build up a resistance to Chlorine Dioxide. Even the polysaccharide structure of a so  called biofilm - a barrier for most other desinfectants - is penetrated.

Viruses are killed in a different way:
Chlorine Dioxide reacts with peptone, a water soluble substance that originates from hydrolisis of  proteins to amino acids. This way protein formation is blocked. Chlorine Dioxide is therefore more  effective against viruses than chlorine or ozone.

ENVIRODIOXIDE®

The new approach in chlorine dioxide application

Chlorine dioxide is a volatile  gas that must be produced on- site. Until now the only  practical method for its production was a chemical generation equipment.
This was the reason why operating costs  were only cost-efficient for large scale application. These costs made the application of chlorine dioxide impractical for small-scale applications.
With ENVORODIOXIDE® the application of chlorine dioxide is affordable and easy for everyone.

Works quickly and easily

Simply drop ENVIRODIOXIDE® tablets into water and, within minutes, they produce a solution of activated chlorine dioxide. Ideal for smallscale applications, the solution then selectively seeks out and destroys unwanted bacteria, viruses, cysts, odors, etc.
